About Kelly Nicholson, Psy.D., LP
Dr. Helene Stoller
Licensed Psychologist
& Practice Owner

I am a bilingual, English and Spanish, licensed Clinical Psychologist in
South Carolina. A native of New Jersey, I received my first Masters
Degree (MAE) in Education from Seton Hall University, a subsequent
Masters Degree in Clinical Practices and a Doctorate in Clinical
Psychology from the University of Hartford in Connecticut. Upon
achievement of all required academic work, I moved to the beautiful
state of Colorado to complete my doctoral internship in an inpatient,
psychiatric hospital. I practiced as a licensed psychologist in Colorado
for nine years. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, older adults, families and
couples. I subsequently started a private practice in Colorado where I worked with people
of every age. My specialty areas include anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties,
abuse and trauma, substance abuse, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical
Behavior Therapy (DBT) and psychological evaluations. I have administered
psychological examinations to children, adolescents, adults and older adults.
Furthermore, I have completed ADHD Assessments and other Cognitive Evaluations to
help inform the course of treatment for clients.

My philosophical view is that everyone has the potential to heal emotional wounds and
live a fulfilling life. Each individual, despite of age, is as a work of art that is in the process
of being created. My passion is to help people gain self-knowledge and the psychological
tools to create their own life masterpieces though problem-solving, building satisfying
relationships, and gaining a sense of purpose. Therefore, I often provide clients with
mental health information for their education in order to stimulate self-empowerment.

I adhere to the principle of mind and body as one. What ails the body is first experienced
in the mind.  As such, I often engage the practice of mindfulness and nonjudgmental self
observation.

One of my favorite passages is, "Walk in a manner that is worthy of the calling to which
you are being called." Ephesians, (4:1).
As a truly optimistic and spiritual person, I enjoy
and appreciate interacting with a variety of people. I am enriched by everyone that I meet
because I believe that everyone has value
and integrity. It is because I view my career as
a psychologist as a calling that I joyfully devote my life's work to helping to improve the
lives of individuals who seek my assistance. In my free time,
I enjoy exercising, reading,
being at the beach,
spending time with my family and friends, and pampering our Golden
Retriever.
