About Linda Mounce, M.A., LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Ohio and South
Carolina. I recently moved back to South Carolina, and am very
excited to be back in the Lowcountry. I have a Masters Degree in
Counseling and Human Development-Mental Health from Walsh
University in Ohio. I have been working as a licensed professional
counselor since 2007. Previously, I had worked in finance and accounting helping
people manage their money; but I wanted something more rewarding and meaningful,
so I decided to help people with what really matters: being happy and enjoying life.

I have worked in both states in multiple settings: outpatient, day treatment, group, and
schools. I have experience providing individual, group and family counseling. I work
with both adults and children. Areas of specialty for adults include anxiety, depression,
trauma, relationship problems, or anything else that causes stress or distress.  I also
specialize in working with children, adolescents and families. Some areas of interest
and expertise are depression and anxiety, mood disorders and emotional disturbances,
self-harm behaviors, anger problems, eating disorders, self-esteem, social skills, abuse
and trauma, ADHD, school difficulties and behavior problems, impulsiveness, family
relationship issues, and adjustment problems at home and school, such as divorce or
bullying.

I have extensive training in the field of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
(TFCBT), working specifically with children who have experienced trauma, and who are
having significant emotional and/or behavioral problems related to these traumatic life
events. I am also trained in and utilize Parent Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT),
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and other evidence based modalities such as
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

My passion is to help children, adolescents, adults, and families who are experiencing
difficulties due to past trauma or current life stressors. My aim is to instill hope that
change is possible and assist in making that change happen. I believe in creating a
safe and supportive environment where individuals feel comfortable talking about their
concerns openly and freely, assisting them in developing effective coping skills, and
providing guidance and motivation to aid them to make changes that benefit them.

In my free time, I am an avid cyclist and enjoy participating in charity rides and events. I
am also a certified Spinning instructor. I believe in a holistic approach to being healthy
physically, emotionally, and spiritually and try to incorporate this into both my
professional and personal life.
